Letting the kids be kids is such a great way to approach a family session. After hundreds of sessions I can truly say that in the grander scope of life, the small period of time you’ll spend on a family session is not the time to pick the big battles. Let them have the fruit snacks. Let them wander off in the other direction (and then follow them to see what magic happens). Let them change your expectations of the shoot. Let them take off their pants for a swim. Seriously. We’ll get the few shots of everyone looking at the camera that everyone will love, but then the memories you’ll laugh about in 20 years (or as soon as you get back in the car) will be recorded too. I had so much fun seeing this sweet fam last week. I hope you love them as much as I do!!
